Metal roofing across the Treasure Valley

We install Interlock® aluminum roofs across the Treasure Valley from our Boise office. City by city, here is what matters: Meridian and Nampa require a permit to re-roof, Nampa allows no more than two layers, ground snow loads run 14 to 18 psf, and hail and summer heat are the valley's real tests.

One company for the whole valley

Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. serves the Treasure Valley from our office in Boise, 3295 W Elder St, Suite 209. We are the certified and exclusive Interlock® roofing contractor in Idaho, Oregon and Washington, registered in Idaho as a General Contractor (DOPL #6181938). Idaho is a new market for us: no install counts or reviews here until we have them.

Across the valley, the roof questions are the same ones: hail from spring and summer thunderstorms, freezing nights and sunny days all winter, hot dry summers, wildfire embers wherever homes meet foothills or rangeland, and the city's permit and the HOA's approval. Below, city by city, is what we know for certain and where to ask.

Meridian

The City of Meridian's residential permit guide lists roof replacement and repair under work that needs a permit. The University of Idaho's 2015 ground snow load study lists 16 psf for Meridian. Many subdivisions here have CC&Rs and an architectural committee that approves roof material and color; get that approval in writing before you sign. We bring samples and spec sheets.

Hail is not hypothetical here: on June 26, 2026 a storm left several inches of small hail on the ground in northwest Meridian, and the lead meteorologist at the National Weather Service's Boise office said "there was an awful lot of it."

Eagle

The University of Idaho's 2015 ground snow load study lists 17 psf for Eagle. Eagle runs from the Boise River up into the foothills, and hillside homes there sit closer to rangeland and wildland fuels. Ask the city whether your lot is in a wildland-urban interface area before you choose a roof; an Interlock® roof is Class A Fire Rated Available, as a complete assembly. We confirm the permit with the city at the estimate and pull it if one is required.

Star

Star sits along the Boise River between Eagle and Middleton, with newer subdivisions and acreage homes. Many subdivisions here have CC&Rs and an architectural committee that approves roof material and color; get that approval in writing before you sign. We bring samples and spec sheets. We confirm the permit with the city at the estimate and pull it if one is required.

Kuna

The University of Idaho's 2015 ground snow load study lists 14 psf for Kuna. Kuna's homes on open ground south of the valley take storm fronts head-on; Interlock panels lock on four sides with the fasteners concealed, and wind resistance is warranted to 120 mph when installed to manufacturer specification. We confirm the permit with the city at the estimate and pull it if one is required.

Garden City

The University of Idaho's 2015 ground snow load study lists 15 psf for Garden City. Garden City's building services sit in its Development Services department; the city says building permits take 10 to 15 working days to review, and its customer service line is (208) 472-2900. Ask there about a re-roof. We confirm the permit with the city at the estimate and pull it if one is required.

Nampa

Nampa's reroof permit application covers all reroof projects, asks whether the job is a tear-off or a roof cover, and allows no more than two layers at completion. The building department answers questions at (208) 468-5435. The University of Idaho's 2015 ground snow load study lists 15 psf for Nampa.

Canyon County summers are long, hot and dry. The Alunar® finish reflects much of the sun's near-infrared energy in every color and carries a 30 Year Alunar® Coating Warranty.

Caldwell

The University of Idaho's 2015 ground snow load study lists 18 psf for Caldwell. Caldwell's Department of Building Safety handles permits; ask there about a re-roof at 208-455-3024. We confirm the permit with the city at the estimate and pull it if one is required. Acreage homes between Caldwell and Nampa take the full force of storm fronts and summer hail; Interlock's Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake and Mediterranean Tile profiles carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating, verified by Intertek for Delta Building Products.

Beyond the Treasure Valley

Mountain Home, McCall and the mountains, the Magic Valley, eastern Idaho and north Idaho: call (208) 842-4762 and ask. We will tell you plainly whether we can schedule your roof. Snow loads climb fast with elevation: the same 2015 study lists 157 psf for McCall.

Questions, answered

Do you install metal roofs across the Treasure Valley?

Yes. We serve Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Star, Kuna, Garden City, Nampa and Caldwell from our Boise office. Call (208) 842-4762.

Do I need a permit to replace my roof in Meridian or Nampa?

Yes. Meridian's residential permit guide lists roof replacement and repair as needing a permit, and Nampa's reroof permit application covers all reroof projects, with no more than two layers allowed at completion. We pull the permit as part of the job.

Will my HOA allow a metal roof?

It depends on your CC&Rs and the architectural committee. Many approve profiles that look like slate, cedar or shake. We supply the samples and spec sheets the committee asks for; get the approval in writing before you sign.

What snow load does a Treasure Valley roof carry?

The University of Idaho's 2015 study lists ground snow loads of 14 to 18 psf across the valley (Kuna 14, Boise 15, Meridian 16, Eagle 17, Caldwell 18). Your building department sets the design load for your address.

Have you installed roofs in the Treasure Valley?

Not yet. Idaho is a new market for us, and we will not show Treasure Valley roofs or reviews until we have them. The company has installed Interlock® roofs in Oregon and Washington since 1997.
